This is a longer statement that Suresh shared on LinkedIn earlier today.

Watching the events unfold around the United States over the last few days has been heartbreaking.

We stand beside the Black community and everyone negatively impacted during this fight against racism and injustice. This is a trying time for our country and the protests represent a legitimate frustration.

Over the weekend, I rewatched President John F. Kennedy’s Civil Rights Address. It is a favorite of mine because it speaks to how the United States should be for all. It also highlights the difference that strong and principled leadership can make in trying times. I hope that we will somehow find meaningful change resulting from the raw emotion being displayed.

Quoting Martin Luther King Jr.:

“One of the great liabilities of history is that all too many people fail to remain awake through great periods of social change. Every society has its protectors of status quo and its fraternities of the indifferent who are notorious for sleeping through revolutions. Today, our very survival depends on our ability to stay awake, to adjust to new ideas, to remain vigilant and to face the challenge of change.”

At Sysdig, we strive to be a community built on mutual respect for all and a place where everyone belongs. One of our core values that has not changed since our doors opened is our commitment to diversity and inclusion. This applies to our hiring practices and how we treat one another.

I have stated this internally, but I am echoing it here as well, I want all Sysdig teammates to feel comfortable to peacefully and publicly protest and shine a spotlight on the injustices. We are also reaffirming our commitment to diversity in our hiring practices – diversity of race, color, ethnic and national origin, gender and sexual orientation.
