SYSDIG COMMUNITY TERMS
Last updated July 9, 2025

Community Terms (“Terms”) are a legal contract between you (either you as an individual or the entity or organization on whose behalf you are entering into these terms and conditions) and Sysdig Inc. (together with its affiliates, “Sysdig” or “Company”) for the access to and use of the Sysdig Open Source Community.

These terms include a number of important provisions that affect your rights and responsibilities, limits on the Company’s liability to you, your agreement to cover the Company for damages caused by your misuse of the Forum, amongst others.

  1. YOUR PERMISSION TO USE THE FORUM.

Subject to these terms, the Company gives you permission to use the Sysdig Open Source Community (“Sysdig Open Source Community”, “Forum”, “Community Forum”). Everyone needs to agree to these terms to use the Forum.

  1. CONDITIONS FOR USE OF THE FORUM.
  • You must be at least eighteen years old.
  • You may no longer use the Forum if the Company contacts you directly to say that you may not.
  • You must use the Forum in accordance with the FAQ.
  1. ACCEPTABLE USE.
  • You may not break the law using the Forum.
  • You may not use or try to use another’s account on the Forum without their specific permission.
  • You may not buy, sell, or trade user names or identifiers.
  • You may not send advertisements or other solicitations through the Forum.
  • You may not automate access or monitor the Forum with tools other than a web browser. Crawling for search engine indexing is permitted if you run a publicly available search engine.
  • You may not use the Forum to send mass mail or group aliases.
  • You may not falsely imply affiliation with or endorsement by the Company.
  • You may hyperlink images or other content only as allowed by authorized file extensions.
  • You may not remove proprietary marks from downloads.
  • You may not embed the Forum elsewhere — always link back.
  • You may not circumvent any security or access restrictions.
  • You may not overload the Forum infrastructure.
  • You may not impersonate others or encourage violations of these Terms.
  1. CONTENT STANDARDS.
  • You may not submit off-topic, unprofessional, or disruptive content.
  • You may not submit illegal, offensive, harassing, or harmful content.
  • You may not post content that infringes on intellectual property or violates privacy rights.
  • You may not post content with malicious code.
  • You may not use content merely as placeholders.
  • You may not post confidential or private information without authorization.
  1. OPEN SOURCE CODE SUBMISSION POLICY.

While sharing code snippets for Q&A is welcome, official OSS contributions must go through proper channels (e.g., GitHub).

  • Such code will be treated as submitted under the applicable open source license.
  • You represent and warrant you have the right to submit it.
  • Moderators may move, delete, or redirect submissions.
  • Sysdig disclaims responsibility for any improperly submitted code.

Discussions about OSS projects are welcome, but all contributions must go through the designated workflow.

  1. MODERATION AND ENFORCEMENT.

Moderators may review and act upon violations but are not obligated to respond. Sysdig reserves the right to remove, redact, or suspend content or users. Report issues to [email protected].

  1. YOUR ACCOUNT.

Creating an account requires a valid email. You’re responsible for account activity. You may close your account or request deletion by contacting us if you have more than one post.

  1. YOUR CONTENT.

You retain ownership of your content. Sysdig does not claim rights over your IP, but you grant a royalty-free license to reproduce and distribute it under these Terms.

  1. YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.

You agree to indemnify Sysdig against claims related to your use of the Forum. You’ll allow Sysdig to manage legal defense and cooperate with it.

  1. DISCLAIMERS.

You accept the Forum “as is.” Sysdig offers no warranties. External links and third-party services are not guaranteed or endorsed.

  1. LIMITS ON LIABILITY.

Sysdig’s liability is limited to USD $50. Sysdig is not liable for indirect or unforeseeable damages.

  1. FEEDBACK.

Feedback provided by you may be used freely by Sysdig without notification or compensation.

  1. TERMINATION.

Either party may terminate this agreement. Upon termination, your right to use the Forum ends.

  1. DISPUTES.

These Terms are governed by California law. Disputes must be resolved via binding arbitration through the AAA. Class actions are not allowed.

  1. GENERAL TERMS.
  • You may not assign your agreement without Sysdig’s consent.
  • Sysdig may assign the agreement to affiliates or successors.
  • No waiver of one breach implies waiver of others.
  • These Terms are the entire agreement about Forum use and override prior versions.
  1. CHANGES.

Sysdig may update these Terms and will notify users via alerts on the Forum. Continued use requires acceptance of updated terms.
